Frequently Asked Questions:

What can I expect in the first session?

It’s a conversation to understand your story, your goals, and how we can help. It’s your space to ask questions and see if we’re a good fit.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy is for anyone seeking support, clarity or change. If you’re wondering, it’s often a good time to start a conversation.

How long does each therapy session last, and how often will we meet?

A standard individual therapy session is 50-60 minutes. At the beginning, most clients find weekly session is most effective. As you progress, we may mutually agree to move to bi-weekly or monthly sessions. The schedule is always tailored to your unique goals.

Is everything I say in therapy confidential?

Yes, confidentiality is a fundamental ethical principle and legal requirement of therapy. What you discuss is private, with very few legal exceptions (which involve immediate risk of harm to yourself or others, or suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable adult). We will review the full limits of confidentiality in details during your first session.
